Efoam lock-down update

Since lockdown began in mid-March, the nation has been tested with a range of difficult circumstances. Needless to say, it has been an extremely challenging time for all those affected by Coronavirus, ranging from front line workers, shopkeepers, care and medical givers and the general public and we extend our greatest gratitude. At eFoam, the pandemic has significantly changed the way we operate. As ever, we are continuing to strive for our very best when it comes to exceeding the expectations of our customers.

From an operational point of view, we have continued to ensure our staff and customers are kept safe via our heightened social distancing and hygiene regulations. Despite these new requirements changing the way we go about our daily foam production and sales; we are incredibly proud to have a dedicated and hardworking team who are continually determined to deliver their very best.

Our team have been working every day and night, seven days a week every week, to ensure we can best serve our customers. We pride ourselves on our work, and we have been doing whatever possible – which includes several members of our team volunteering to work from dawn until dusk! We are ever so grateful for their support and also thank our loyal customers for their generous support and understanding.

Over the past few months, we have supplied foam components to a range of front-line organisations and healthcare professionals, including care homes, schools, carers and to some individual customers who are making PPE visors to donate to their local hospices and retirement homes. The response of the general public to the COVID-19 pandemic has been truly amazing, and we are proud to support the communities and individuals that are coming together at this testing time. We at eFoam have supplied well over 2 million foam components to vital services over the lockdown period, and are still producing these foam components in the tens of thousands each week.

With heightened demands for personal protective equipment (PPE), we have been working to directly support a range of businesses and healthcare organisations both across the UK and closer to us at eFoam. We have been supplying local hospitals and have been working hard to deliver foam parts to other NHS and private hospitals all over the UK.

With the scale of demand for PPE outweighing supply early on in lockdown, we have been working closely with other manufacturing companies to supply them with foam strips and components for PPE. Behind the scenes, many fantastic manufacturers have shifted away from their usual line of work to produce and supply visor face shields!

Outside of the healthcare setting, we are also incredibly pleased to have produced and supplied many foams used for the clear plastic guards that are currently being used in supermarkets, essential offices and at till points. Using a rigid closed-cell foam block, these pieces are used to hold guards up in place and are continuing to help us all shop and work safely.

These are undoubtedly unusual times, and we sincerely thank our customers for their ongoing support. We have been incredibly busy with critical foam orders, as well as a higher volume of website orders for those who have been embarking on foam-based DIY and projects during the lockdown. Naturally, there have been unavoidable delays in some cases while we prioritise essential healthcare and front-line needs, but we thank you all for your understanding and patience as we continue to make our way through this testing time.
